What is an EPD

Yale is leading the way towards a more sustainable global industry with its participation in the EPD programme.

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a complete mapping of a product's environmental footprint based on a detailed Lifecycle assessment (LCA), independently verified by an accredited third party.

An EPD does not guarantee that a product is energy efficient or sustainable, but it allows the user to make an informed decision when selecting a solution.

  • Environmental product declarations are based on the ISO 14025 and EN 15804, internationally recognised standards

  • Product specific EPDs are worth twice as much as industry generic EPDs

  • EPDs can contribute credits towards green building certification such as BREEAM or LEED

  • Allows customers to make informed decisions, by knowing exactly what is in our products

  • Can help reduce a building's environmental impact
