      • Caldwell Spiral Balance Range

        The Caldwell range of wind-up balances for sash windows
        allow window fabricators to provide exactly what is required for
        mechanical assistance, longevity & economy.

        Spiral balances are single sprung and have been designed to
        allow vertical sash windows to slide easily up & down and hold
        stationary, as required.

         

        The Caldwell comprehensive Spiral range of spring balances
        includes, Spirex, Spiralift and Alumatilt, Alumatilt Heavy Duty.

        • Range includes 14mm Aluminium Mill Finish outer tube and 16mm  white PVC or Brown PVC outer tubes
        • Suitable for Aluminium, PVCu, Timber and windows

        • Spiral balances are colour coded with white, blue, red and black couplings that determine the weight/ length combination

         

        • Spirex balances for sashes weighing from 1kg to 13.5kg and in length 9 inches to 60 inches.
        • Spiralift balances for sashes weighing 14kg to 18kg and in length 9 inches to 60 inches
        • Alumatilt for sashes weighing from 1kg to 13.5kg and in length 8inches – 60inches
        • Alumatilt Heavy Duty for sashes weighing from 14kg to18kg and in length 8inches to 48inches

      • Caldwell Ultralift (UL6) Spring Balance

        Ultralift sash window balances are double sprung, offering increased efficiency and a smoother operation. The double-sprung design offers the end user up to 70% increased mechanical advantage compared with standard operation. 

        Ultralift balances can be specified for use in both tilt-in and standard sash window designs

         

        Features:

        • The range includes double-sprung and single-spring options 
        • Suitable for sashes weighing between:
          • ​Standard: 4.5Kg – 27Kg
          • Heavy Duty: 27.5Kg to 31Kg
        • Tilt and non-tilt sash options
        • Supplied in 17mm diameter white PVC-U tubes as standard
        • Brown, Grey, Cream, and Black clip-on tubes available -  when using clip-on tubes please allow for an additional 2mm to the overall diameter
        • Suitable for PVCu, Timber, Aluminium and Composite Windows

         

        Easy identification 

        Ultralift balances are stamped with the part number, date of manufacture & sash weight they are designed to carry. This can be found on the balance tube near the top fixing location.

      • Caldwell Torso II Spring Balance

        Offering torque-free operation for smoother movement, Torso balances are renowned for their reliability.

        Torque-free movement is especially important for heavier sashes, reducing the chance of bi-axial strain which significantly improves the performance of the sliding action. 

        Features:

        • Double-sprung as standard providing extra mechanical assistance
        • Torso II offers up to 80% reduction in manual applied force 
        • Suitable for sashes weighing between 3kg and 45Kg
        • Tilt-in and non-tilt sash options
        • Supplied in 17mm diameter PVC-U tubes in white, brown, grey, and cream
        • Black outer clip-on tubes are available
        • Suitable for PVCu, Timber, Aluminium, and composite windows
