Torque-free movement is especially important for heavier sashes, reducing the chance of bi-axial strain which significantly improves the performance of the sliding action.

Easy identification 
Torso II spring balances are stamped with the part number, date of manufacture & sash weight they are designed to carry. This can be found on the balance tube near the top fixing location.

    Ultralift sash window balances are double sprung, offering increased efficiency and a smoother operation. The double-sprung design offers the end user up to 70% increased mechanical advantage compared with standard operation. 

    Ultralift balances can be specified for use in both tilt-in and standard sash window designs
